Prints

We have sickness in the household so it seems like the perfect time to share something that I have already prepared, before I crawl back into bed and sleep, again.

I’ve been wanting to share information about prints on a part of my page that can actually be seen on phones. This week’s three images have all been recently been ordered as prints.

Resplendent – Mulga Parrot

This Mulga Parrot staggered me when it pulled its wings around its chest and displayed its beautiful feathers. The parrot was facing me. I photographed this bird in the Mallee, and the shot looks fabulous as a print.

Thornbill in a Sunbeam – Brown Thornbill

This shot was a magical moment. The sun was going down rapidly until the only visible light was on the end of this branch. I contemplated packing up but decided to focus on the spot and wait until all the light had completely gone. And then, in came this tiny thornbill, weighing the same as seven paperclips and landing perfectly in the light. This is one of the shots I use in presentations to show how beautiful our photographs can be when we use the nuances of natural light, rather than the bright flatness of flashes.

Outback Drinkers – Galah

This shot also looks fabulous as a print, and I’m super grateful to the people who have sent photographs of their framing choices. I photographed these Galahs at a dam in the Little Desert after the horrifying bushfires had razed much of the area.

I’m often asked about my prints and realise I need to share information upfront so people can see how reasonable my prices are. My aim is to have beautiful prints of our wildlife shared as far and wide as possible. As David Attenborough said, ‘No one will protect what they don’t care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced’. My youngest daughter and I had the absolute pleasure of shaking David’s hand when he was on tour in Australia.

Here are details about my prints, I will also add it to the birdcall page so it’s easier to find in future.
