I like the way that a breeze can add a little distinction to a portrait.
The crest on this White-faced Heron portrait is reminding me of something but I can’t quite think what it is.
I enjoy watching these herons as they hunt. This shot was taken at the Western Treatment Plant but sometimes they come right up to my study window. When they spot a delightful looking morsel (otherwise known as a hapless skink or something equally tasty) they sway their necks from side to side before striking.
The background in this shot adds a kind of mystical aura to the portrait.
The torrid saga continues, and I continue to be grateful for so much support.
