BIF Calendar

I have two desert trips coming up, one to continue documenting fire recovery in the Little Desert, and the other a scientific expedition to a more remote area. Hopefully I will get to share some fascinating photographs over the next few weeks.

In the meantime I have some exciting calendar news! I hadn’t planned to do a calendar this year as I’ve been way too busy to make it happen but then the wonderful Joy contacted me and said she’d be happy to organise everything if I could select photographs and write the text etc. The species I have chosen include several whose conservation status is of concern.

I hope you like the photograph for your birthday month.

Draft 2027 lirralirra calendar – Gold Medal shot for the page that is usually left blank, along with information on prints and courses

So here’s the plan, a Birds in Flight calendar with high quality printing, and saddle stitched for environmental friendliness. As usual I plan to take pre-printing orders and I’ll share details about that process and prices as soon as I can. I really appreciate the support for my calendars, 100% of any profits goes towards my conservation photography.

Happy birding, Kim

Wonderful action shots! It will be a spectacular calendar 🤩

Superb photos, Kim. I think my fave is the Pacific Black duck in flight, with that magical flash of teal under its wing. I just adore the teal sheen of that colour, against the rather drab brown plumage. Almost as if the Blackie is showing us that he is not as dowdy as he first appears to be! Now that our duck shooting enabler
Premier, Jacinta Allan, has resigned, I am fervently hoping that Ben Carroll will finally put a stop to the senseless slaughter of our beautiful ducks every year. Fingers – and wings – crossed!

Blackies are surprisingly beautiful aren’t they. Sadly Ben Caroll hasn’t started well as he’s just passed a bill that supports shooters. I’m devastated.

    Hi Kim
Wondering if you are taking clients on your upcoming workshops as I would love to join you if possible.

Hi Anne, yes we will be putting up some new dates soon, or we could work something out privately. Are you thinking of the workshops with Des from Australian Bird Tours? Bookings and enquiries for that option can be made via the website: https://www.australianbirdtours.com.au/bird-photography-masterclass
If you’re thinking of something different please respond to this comment or send me an email at kim @ lirralirra.com (without the spaces), it would be lovely to do a workshop with you, Kim
