How beautiful is this female Galah, perched so happily on a perfectly shaped little log in the middle of the tranquil waters of an outback dam at sunrise.

If your device lets you enlarge this shot you’ll see the incredible detail of her feathers and her eye. It’s pretty easy to identify male and female Galahs as females have pink irises.
You may have recognised the perch from last week’s Red-rumped Parrot post, though it looks quite different as one shot was taken at sunset and the other at sunrise.
I was just about to head to sleep when I realised it’s Friday. I’ve been incredibly busy organising everything I’ll need for a remote trip, the desert country is calling.
