Such a beautiful ibis and I could hardly believe the stunning pose.

I was rapt to spend some time lurking in the wetlands this week. I don’t see Glossy Ibis as often as I see the Australian White Ibis or the Straw-necked Ibis so it was an extra pleasure to watch this beautiful bird as it shook and stretched. The iridescent colours in its wings are exquisite and it looks so elegant with its long legs and curved bill.

I’d like to introduce to a special guest this week, a gorgeous nine year old who goes by the nickname ‘Lettuce’. She’s going to tell you about the challenge I’ve set for her.

Hi, my challenge is if I get 100 Australian bird field guide IDs right I will get given $100. Right now I’m writing them down in sections like penguins, parrots and backyard birds. I know tons but I am up to 31 in the list. I’ll inform you when I get $100. I am really excited. Happy IDing! lettuce
