Pardalote

I have just thought that this Spotted Pardalote should be called Mary Poppins, because she’s practically perfect in every way.

Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus)

This week I’ve been busy creating a couple of Ethical Bird Photography presentations but I kept being distracted by the heat, by the risk of bushfire and, more pleasantly, by tiny birds visiting my birdbaths.

When I looked outside and saw this exquisite feathery gem I was glad my camera was so close. The light was perfect and so was she.

I’m away this weekend, back in the Little Desert photographing the regeneration following the catastrophic fires. I’ll share more about that in the coming weeks, in the meantime I’m pretty exhausted and hope you like this little pardalote as much as I do.

Happy birding, Kim
